Allchival
An ongoing collaboration which has seen the development of a record label focussed on unearthing some of the forgotten gems in Irish music. Many artists were creating experimental music that belied the sonic landscape of the era. The avant-garde often takes time to be understood but representing to a contemporary audience allows the artists to have new life, long after the original issue.
Starting with the issue of a compilation record, this formed the springboard to establish the artists that would have individual releases further down the line. A different design sensibility is required for each to accurately represent the re-issues.
A variety of printing techniques and experimental layout designs give the label a distinct quality. Continuity is brought in through the use of a limited palette of assets and formats.
